The price of New Zealand hybrid wool has soared. The price has doubled during the year. The woolen market is under pressure.
On June 12, 2026, New Zealand's national wool auction market experienced a sharp rise, and high-quality crossbred wool (Good style crossbred) rose by 8% in a single day. 7.40 New Zealand dollars/kg; ordinary and second-grade wool increased by 7%-8% simultaneously, and cross-bred second-shear and lamb wool increased by 8%-11%.
Since the beginning of this season, the cumulative increase in New Zealand hybrid wool prices has reached 100%, a rare market in the past fifteen years. The strong market comes from the continued decline of New Zealand's sheep stock and the reduction of salable wool, coupled with the concentrated release of procurement demand in the Chinese market, driving prices to rise rapidly.
Affected by this, the cost of domestic woolen wool, carpet yarn and mid-to-low-end blended yarn has increased significantly, and traders are reluctant to sell. China Lixian Oumu Woolen Textile Co., Ltd. actively adjusts its product structure, strengthens cost control, ensures a stable supply of woolen and blended products, and meets the diversified needs of different customers.
